Kris Lengel
Kris A. Lengel voices radio ads and shares encouraging biblical devotions. Kris has served as pastor of the Grace Fellowship of Mineral Baptist Church in Keyser, West Virginia, since 2006. Before becoming a pastor, and after seven years of service in the U.S. Navy, Kris was married in 1995 and soon found himself living back in
his home state of West Virginia. He and his wife, Misty, began attending Mineral Baptist Church in 1999 where he soon heard the Lord’s call to pastoral ministry. While juggling a full-time carpet cleaning business and janitorial service with Bible classes through Prairie Bible College, Kris was also serving as a deacon in the churc h and teaching various Bible studies. In 2005, the then pastor of the church decided to leave the fellowship. Through the months that followed, and after much prayer and affirmation from the Lord and the congregation of Mineral Baptist, Kris became their full-time pastor.
In January 2018, Kris was offered an additional position as the staff Chaplain for the Stonerise Keyser nursing facility, which has proven to be an avenue of great blessing. Weekly Bible studies as well as opportunities to meet, share, and pray with so many wonderful people has become such a joy. Through the troubling year of 2020, the doors for a writing ministry were opened wide as plans got abruptly changed for many at the nursing home and abroad. Kris started writing and recording devotional Bible teachings to encourage residents and staff alike during those challenging days, weeks, and months. Many of these devotions can also be heard on Spirit 101. Along with these came the weekly “Pastor’s Desk” newsletter, which is basically a one-page Bible teaching article. To this day, new writings and recordings are still being distributed and played weekly at Stonerise Keyser.
With a focus on the Lord Jesus Christ and His gospel, Kris has a passion for teaching the Word of God in the church, as well as sharing it abroad. From his devotional writing ministry came Kris’ first book, “All You Who Hope in the Lord: Walking with David Through Psalm 31.” Available through Amazon and Google Play, it was released in March of 2022.
Kris enjoys spending time with his wife, Misty, and their daughter, Emma, whom he affectionately calls “his girls.” Camping is a favorite respite, as well as a campfire, the coffee, and the s’mores that go with it. He and his family live in Fort Ashby.
