Aside from financial contributions, we are in need of the following items:

• Purina Dog and Cat Chow
• Purina Kitten Chow
• Canned dog and cat food (wet)
• Disinfecting wipes
• Paper towels
• Laundry detergent
• Dish detergent
• Towels and blankets (gently used is just fine)

Our shelter is dependent upon volunteers. Opportunities for volunteering include:

• Taking a pup to our community and adoption events
• Walking and socializing dogs on site
• Socializing cats
• Dish washing and laundry
• Answering the phone

• Hounding Around Town – Pick up a pup to take on a doggie date. This might be a walk on the canal for our active dogs, a movie at your home for our couch potatoes, or just a short car ride to get a pup cup.

The Allegany County Animal Shelter serves as a “Shelter of Hope” for the lost, abandoned, and homeless animals of Allegany County. Through compassionate care and unwavering dedication, we ensure that every animal is protected and given a second chance at life. While in our care, we provide safe shelter, nourishment, medical care, and rehabilitation while the animals prepare for the next chapter in their lives.

We are fortunate to have the support of valued partners throughout our community, including local businesses, organizations, and animal rescue groups. These partnerships play an important role in helping us fulfill our mission and make a lasting difference in the lives of the animals we serve.
